Description
Heritage and origin
Discover Conventual Tinto, the signature red from historic Adega de Portalegre, one of Portugal’s oldest cooperatives nestled in the cool, high-altitude granite hills of northern Alentejo. Made from the classic local trio of Trincadeira, Castelão and the rare Torneiro, this medium-ruby 750 ml bottle at 14% volume marries Portalegre’s mountain freshness with Alentejo warmth: ripe red-fruit intensity softened by dark chocolate and gentle tannins, with a distinctive touch of green tea, cherry and Mediterranean herbs. Pure sub-regional character, available at Vin’s Winery online shop.
The Conventual expression
Conventual Tinto is vinified to highlight Portalegre’s unique cool-climate elegance: fully destemmed grapes ferment at controlled temperatures with measured skin contact, then age briefly in stainless steel to preserve fruit purity and that signature mineral-chocolate finish. Serve at 16-18°C alongside roasted poultry, pork, game or mature cheeses to enjoy its soft, harmonious depth at Vin’s Winery.
